MAPC’s Racial Justice Task Force is sponsoring a Movie Night at the church Friday, January 13th, at 6:30 pm. We will meet for pizza, salad, dessert, and beverages, and watch a screening of “Till”.
In 1955, after Emmett Till is murdered in a brutal lynching, his mother vows to expose the racism behind the attack while working to have those involved brought to justice. Till does not depict Emmett’s murder, but focuses on his mother, Mamie Till-Mobley’s, fight for justice.
One member of our task force said he’s been reluctant to view this film. Others may feel that way, too. Here is an opportunity to experience this important work together with our MAPC family. Discussion will follow. Please join in! Sign up here for this free (donations accepted) event so we’ll know how much food to order.
