RJTF | Siyan Wong Exhibition

Saturday, November 4th, at 2:30 pm | Gallery 456 | Free Admission

For those of you who joined in for the Chinatown and Little Italy tour sponsored by the Racial Justice Task Force, this announcement is one you likely have been anticipating. And for those who couldn’t join, here’s a new opportunity!

Siyan Wong, a NYC worker rights attorney and artist, joined us for lunch following the Chinatown tour, and spoke movingly about her artistic work with canners to make known their stories which are many immigrants’ story. She shared a postcard of one of her paintings and mentioned she would have a show in the fall.

Her show opens October 28th, and the Racial Justice Task Force is gathering a group of MAPCers and friends to visit the exhibit on Saturday, November 4th, at 2:30 pm, with a 3 pm panel discussion entitled, “Heart to Heart with People Who Collect Cans: How, Why, and What are the Solutions?” We may adjourn for coffee/tea afterward.

Exhibition Location:
Chinese American Arts Council
Gallery 456
456 Broadway, 3rd Floor, Soho, New York

Please sign up using the link below so we know to expect you and can give Siyan an idea how many we will be. If you would like to attend but cannot that day, note that the following Saturday, Nov. 11th  at 3 pm Siyan is giving an artist talk about her paintings and art practice.  There are other viewing hours during the exhibit which runs from October 28th to November 17th: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat & Sun, 1–5pm
