Parenting, the Pandemic, and PTSD

Madison Ave Presbyterian Church, 8th floor (enter the 921 Madison door) - Postponed - New Date TBA

The spread of Covid-19 left a mark on our world, communities, and families. In addition to the impact on work, health, and finances, the preventative measures placed during 2020-2022 had a great effect on children’s and teen’s educations, access to social resources, and families’ everyday functioning. Caregivers have experienced a stressful collision of responsibilities ranging from managing their children’s education and post-pandemic struggles, navigating work, and caring for their own psychological well-being amid a global traumatic event. In this 1.5 hour-long workshop, sponsored by the MAPC Board of Deacons, Mickey Correa, LCSW, M.Div, and Emily Gordon, LMSW, of Blanton-Peale Institute & Counseling Center will begin to explore the impact of the pandemic and PTSD on parenting, with a particular focus on parenting teens and young adults.

This workshop is free of charge, and open to all parents of teens and young adults (you do not need to be a member of the church!), but we need to know how many to prepare for, so please register below.
