Discipleship Lunch | Grappling with NYC’s and MAPC’s History: Enslavement and Abolition | 12:15 pm Sunday in Parish Hall, led by the Racial Justice Task Force. NYC and MAPC have a complicated history with enslavement and abolition. We like to think New York was a center of the abolitionist movement, but we were also heavily involved in chattel slavery, upon which the wealth of the city and most of its historic churches was built. Let’s take a closer look at this history and what our response to it might be. What do the prophets and the gospel call us to do?
