SAMS - Announcing our 58th Season
The Saint Andrew Music Society of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church announces its 58th Season featuring 12 concerts from October through May. With performances of masterworks by our resident choirs, the Saint Andrew Chorale and the New York City Children’s Chorus; our annual Carol Sing; and many guest artists. You are invited to join us for a year of great music making!
Tickets are now available for our major choral concerts featuring the Saint Andrew Chorale & Orchestra: Duruflé’s Requiem, Franck’s Psalm 150, and Poulenc’s Organ Concerto on November 20; Mendelssohn’s St. Paul on April 23; and our 18th Annual Carol Sing featuring Cecilia McDowall’s Christus Natus Est for brass, organ and choirs on December 11.
Among the highlights of the season, we are thrilled to welcome back renowned British soprano Dame Emma Kirkby, performing a program with lutenist Jakob Lindberg entitled “Still Music in Distracted Times” on November 13. Members of Juilliard415, The Juilliard School’s period instrument ensemble, will be featured on April 16, plus performances by pianists, chamber musicians, and a classical guitarist will round out the season.
Tickets with assigned seating can now be purchased for our major choral concerts, our Carol Sing, and Dame Emma Kirby’s recital; and tickets for all other concerts with general seating may also now be purchased in advance on our website.
We are also pleased to report that the New York City Children’s Chorus, an exciting part of MAPC’s music ministry that is now entering its eleventh season, will join the Saint Andrew Chorale in addition to performing their Spring Concert: “Oh the Places We’ll Go” on May 7.
If you are on our mailing list, you will be receiving the series brochure within the next few weeks. If you are not currently on our postal mailing list, please email music@mapc.com to request a printed copy.
