Saint Andrew Music Society - Opening Concert

The opening concert of the Saint Andrew Music Society’s 60th Season is next Sunday, September 29 at 3 pm. Renowned saxophonist Paul Cohen teams up with MAPC’s Director of Music & Organist to celebrate their recently released recording, Of Light and Solace, recorded in MAPC’s sanctuary last year. The program will feature works excerpted from the recording and other colorful works featuring the effective combination of soprano saxophone, Conn-o-sax and organ, including Calvin Hampton’s Variations on Amazing Grace, Guy de Lioncourt’s Trois Mélodies Grégoriennes, and works by Denis Bédard, André Lamproye, Anders Paulsson & David Sampson; plus organ solo works by Seth Bingham & Louis Vierne.
