“Quiet Prayer”

Sunday mornings, 9:45 to 10:15 on the 8th floor.

There is a rich Christian tradition of contemplative prayer among both Protestants and Roman Catholics. One form of contemplative prayer is called Centering Prayer, developed by Cistercian monk Thomas Keating who wrote, “Open Mind, Open Heart: The Contemplative Dimension of the Gospel.” While one can practice contemplative prayer on one’s own, it is helpful to sit in silent prayer with others. Questa Anderson has offered to facilitate this time of quiet prayer on Sunday mornings before worship, from 9:45 to 10:15. Information on Centering Prayer will be available. If you would like to join in this time of prayer, please come to the 8th floor on Sunday morning. It would be helpful if you could arrive a little before 9:45 to get settled.
