Dear Congregation and Friends of MAPC,

It is time to move to the next chapter in the life of our church. The Pastor Nominating Committee has pursued a careful and lengthy search for our new Senior Pastor. It is with great joy, excitement, and anticipation that we are bringing the Rev. Dr. Aaron Janklow to the congregation to be the next Senior Pastor of Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church.  Aaron, along with his wife Laurel and four-month-old daughter Lyla, will be joining us from the Royal Poinciana Chapel in Palm Beach, Florida, where he has been serving as Executive Pastor for the last 5½ years. As Executive Pastor, Aaron was responsible for supervision and management of staff, working with the Finance Committee to develop and monitor budgets, oversaw successful stewardship campaigns and building upkeep, along with the church’s outreach and mission to the community. Before that, Aaron served in various roles at St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, First Presbyterian Church of Delray Beach, and First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor. He graduated from Princeton Theological Seminary in May 2007 and received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in June 2017. Setting aside his pastoral service and academic achievements, most of all Aaron has impressed us with his profound faith, his engaging and biblically based preaching, his commitment to God and Christ, and his embrace of the mission and outreach that characterizes our church.

Please click here for a letter from Aaron and to read more about him.

Please join us on March 12th, when Aaron will preach for us, followed by a Congregational Meeting.  We hope all of you will join us in welcoming him as our new Senior Pastor.

While we are excited to welcome our new pastor, we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge our gratitude to Rev. Dr. Patrick Vaughn for his ministry to our congregation over the past two years. After the abrupt departure of Rev. Jenny McDevitt, made worse by the near simultaneous onset of the Covid-19 pandemic which shut down our in-person worship for over a year, we were blessed with the arrival of Patrick who helped us move forward.  We thank Patrick, the pastoral staff and lay leadership of the church for all their hard work over the last two years.

Yours In Christ,
Pastor Nominating Committee
