“A Tribute to My Teachers”

The next concert of the Saint Andrew Music Society’s 59th Season is on Sunday, November 12 at 3 pm, featuring British pianist Simon Mulligan. Simon has been described by The Times of London as “the most abundantly gifted of pianists.” His program pays tribute to his past teachers with a wide variety of beloved piano works including Beethoven’s Sonatina in F; Weber’s Rondo Brillante; Liszt’s Mephisto Valse No. 1; Debussy’s Clair de Lune; Schubert’s Impromptu, Op. 90, No. 2; Franck’s Prelude in B minor; and Johann Strauss Jr.’s Voices of Spring Waltz, Op. 410.

The Saint Andrew Music Society was founded by Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in 1965. Now in its 59th Season, the church sponsors an annual series of concerts, Music on Madison, on Sunday afternoons from September through May. Well regarded for its favorable acoustics and warm atmosphere, the church is easily reached via the 6 Subway line (77th Street) or buses on Madison and Fifth Avenues, and on 72nd Street. The Church is handicapped accessible.
