In the Footsteps of Jesus

Sunday, April 21 after worship in Parish Hall.

Elder Roy Lennox will teach on his recently published book In the Footsteps of Jesus: Exploring the World of the Gospels. Looking at the gospels through the lens of history, he will provide political, social, and cultural context to better understand the world of Jesus.

Roy will cover such topics as the larger-than-life personality of Herod the Great, the profound gap between rich and poor that underlies much of Jesus’ teaching, the role of the Pharisees, ancient literacy, the oral tradition, and the information network – or “holy internet” - of the ancient Roman world that spread the “good news.” Books will be available for $10.
